To Ellen

This blog is made to the honor of my grandmother Ellen Elisabeth Thomsen who was a modern woman .
She was born in Randers in Denmark 1895 and died in Copenhagen 1976.
She had long salmon red hair down to her hips. It was braided and put up with lots of hairpins to make it look short.

Used to love this picture when I was young, it was not the romance in it, but the
union of plants animals and humans in a lovely midday. Just like my life used to be.
Now when living in a town, most of the time I can't look at the whole view with joy.

The Wind

Remember this kind of negligee was popular in the 60ties in Denmark.
Used to slip into my mothers, when I was a child and she was not home
The feeling of flying was extra easy to imagine in that outfit. I was flying around the room.

Dark red hair

Today when interviewing some older members of my fathers family I found out that there
was and still is a dominance for red hair in all shades in my family.
My great grandfather was dark red haired , almost like dark mahogany,
 two of his daughters
my grandmother Ellen and her sister Johanne both had red hair .
Johanne's only son Leif got his mothers red hair
One of  Leif's two sons got red hair too.
But my great grandfather also had a son Otto who got 2 red haired children .
My grandmother Ellen's two children did not get red hair, but the daughter
my aunt  has two sons with red hair
And Ellen's son my father got me who was red blond when younger
and my brother's daughter Anna has the most wonderful red hair
On my mothers side only my great grand father had red hair
And  the I had a red haired Uncle who's only daughter got a red haired daughter

So don't blame me for the interest and  love of red hair!
Since my great grandfather Christian Thomsen had dark red hair this post is for him.

Ernest Joseph Laurent

Albert Lynch

Karlovsky

This painter sees the finest and most fragile color tones, his paintings are outstanding with a
seldomly poetic gentleness. He always remember to paint the air  the almost invisible factor in
reality that so few painters notice!

Danish Painter

Many red haired persons  get almost dark reddish brown when they get older, like this woman

Alston Abbey

Malcolm Lipke

Lipke is very popular in America .
I do not like the vulgarity in this and many others of  his pictures
which makes the women look like horny nudes in male magazine photos .
He is a  good painter though.

Tamara de Lempicka

She can paint sensuality and sexuality without falling into a vulgar expression.
Her highlight make shape they don't lie on the skin like snail slime
The pouting lips are not previously licked and wet!
